Our investigation process

A structured approach from desk study to final report — so your structural engineers receive data they can act on, not just numbers they have to interpret.

01. Desk study and scope definition
We review existing geological maps, borehole records, and site history to identify ground risks and define the investigation scope, depth, and test program.
02. Site investigation and sampling
Our field teams carry out drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing at agreed locations, logging soil and rock conditions continuously with depth.
03. Laboratory testing
Retrieved samples are tested in our accredited laboratory for classification, strength, compressibility, permeability, and chemical properties as required by the design brief.
04. Data analysis and interpretation
Field and laboratory data are analysed by a geotechnical engineer to develop a ground model, identify hazards, and derive design parameters for foundations and earthworks.
05. Geotechnical report and design support
We deliver a complete geotechnical report with bore logs, test results, ground model, and foundation recommendations — and remain available to support the structural design team throughout.
